The Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has celebrated with Lagos residents and every Nigerian on the commemoration of Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a Christmas message issued by his Special Adviser, Mr Gboyega Akosile, urged people to be their brother’s keepers by showing love and compassion to one another throughout this season.
He said, “As we celebrate Christmas, I am extending my best wishes to every Lagosian and Nigerians, especially Christians across the country and other parts of the world.
“We must not forget the true essence of the season, which is to reflect on the birth of Jesus and its significance to mankind. We should seize the opportunity of the celebration to strengthen our love for one another by being kind and generous to the people around us.
“As we mark this year’s Christmas, I want to urge Christian faithful in the state to continue to live in peace and harmony with believers of other faith. We should emulate virtues of humility, tolerance, perseverance and compassion as exemplified by Jesus Christ, whose birth we are celebrating this season.
“This season is a time to reflect and appreciate how far we have come together as a people. Despite the challenges of the year, our resilience and sense of community have remained strong, and that gives us hope for the future.
“I pray that this Christmas brings peace to your homes and joy to your hearts. Thank you for your continued support and belief in a greater Lagos.”
