Sanwo-Olu Bags NUJ Award As Outstanding Governor Of The Year

Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Babajide  Sanwo-Olu has bagged the Outstanding Governor of the Year Award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State Council.

The event, the Y2021 Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Gala/Awards was held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.

Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly emerged as the Outstanding Speaker of a State Assembly.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of Lagos State Council of the NUJ, Mr. Adeleye Ajayi, said Governor Sanwo-Olu was nominated because his administration recorded landmark achievements in the area of Transportation and Traffic Management, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism and in the Security and Governance sectors.

Ajayi said, “It is also on record that the Lagos State Government, under his leadership as the Incident Commander, battled the three waves of COVID-19 pandemic with huge success. He equally handled the EndSARS protests by directly engaging the youths and taking their case to President Muhammadu Buhari”.

The NUJ Chairman also stated that Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa emerged as Outstanding Speaker of a State Assembly because he has “promoted a harmonious relationship between the Executive and the Legislative Arms of government, thereby impacting on the smooth running of governance by the Sanwo-Olu administration.
