Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the successful treatment and discharge of additional seven more COVID-19 patients.
This brings to 39, the number of the corona virus patients that have been successfully treated and released from the state, which is the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria.
“Good people of Lagos”, the Governor said, “I have more good news from our Bio-Security facility at Yaba, which is a testament to our resolve to overcome the lethal COVID-19. This brings to 39 the number of discharged patients in Lagos”, Governor Sanwo-Olu said.
According to the Sanwo-Olu, who is also the Incident Commander in the state, the patients include one female and six males, three of the discharged male patients are foreign nationals; two Ukrainian and one Italian.
The governor expressed optimism of more good news ahead, urging everyone to support the state governments offensive against the disease by complying with the directives issued by the state, and take responsibility for selves and community.
“In the coming days, some of our health workers will be moving around in pairs to administer an electronic questionnaire at homes and healthcare facilities to make enquiries about some symptoms like cough, cold and fever.
“This is in a bid to intensify our search for possible cases of COVID-19 in different communities across the state known as active case search.
“These officials can be identified with a COVID-19 Outbreak Response tag or a letter from the LGA. I implore you to give them your maximum support by providing accurate information that would help in containing this pandemic quickly.
“Again, I assure that at the end of it all, we will hoist a flag of victory with your cooperation and by the special grace of the Almighty”, the governor added.
