President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said his administration will ensure that infrastructural development of Nigeria is continued, while ensuring that very credible election are conducted in 2019.
The President said the government will also continue to accord recognition to individuals, organizations and groups that are working hard to support the government and ensure that their sacrifices for the country are not made in vain.
Speaking when he received the National Working Committee (NWC), State and Zonal coordinators and National Women Leaders of the Muhammadu Buhari Osinbanjo Dynamic Support Group (MBO) in Abuja, the President said the government will continue to do its best to justify the trust of the people in the government, adding that trust and confidence won’t be compromised.
President Buhari said he was pleased that organizations like MBO are around and working for the country all on their own, pointing out the group has shown courage, commitment and sacrifice.
Assuring MBO Dynamic Support Group that their support and confidence in the administration will be sustained, President Buhari said the government will leverage on the support of groups like MBO to improve the lot of the people.
He thanked the group for its support and sacrifices over the years and pledged to continue to work towards consolidating on the achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I thank you very much for the sacrifice you have been making. I am happy to use this opportunity to meet you and thank you for the sacrifices and steadfastness.
“I don’t think I can thank you enough because by identifying yourself as a group for all these years and getting nothing for it visibly, I think its worthy of commendation,” President Buhari said.
On his part, the National Coordinator of Muhammadu Buhari Osinbanjo Dynamic Support Group, Hon Usman Ibrahim, while congratulating the President of his 76th birthday, said MBO is a Category A affiliated Group with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said the group was formed in 2014 by Nigerians of different professional tribal and religious backgrounds who believe in the patriotic zeal of the president, and his commitment towards the evolvement of a corrupt free Nigeria.
“Mr. President, our Group is an idealistic type which developed a political strategy in 2014 code named Operation Win 40 which was tested during the 2015 general elections”.
The National Coordinator said the group was not supporting the president for the sake of it, but rather the support is an affirmation that the anti-corruption fight is yielding results, economic recovery is in a positive stride, and improved security, particularly in the decimation of the insurgency in the North East.
“We recognize and appreciate your infrastructural development strides and cordial working relationship with your deputy, coupled with your penchant for completing projects not necessarily initiated by you. We encourage you to continue to improve on these giant strides”, the National Coordinator added.
Present at the event were the National Patron of MBO and Hon Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, alongside other top government officials.
