The shabby, shoddy and disdainful manner former Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, was treated by President Buhari remans a sore reminder of many things that ails Nigeria.
Where is Magu now who served this nation with all his power and might?
How is he, and how does he feel in the face of the near ignominious way the president and nation he served so well treated him?
The Buhari’s government has continued to swim effortlessly in the ocean of corruption since Magu was removed, and I am not about to start listing out these atrocities which are well known to a watching world.
Magu was the face of the Buhari’s government until near criminal elements succeeded in swerving the presidents mind against the hard fighting anti-corruption czar,
As I write, the Salami panel report submitted in November 2020 remains a mystery between “The Rocks” in Asokoro. Neither the details of the report nor its recommendations have been disclosed to the public since then.
“Cabals in the Presidency have schemed to ensure that President Muhammadu Buhari does not do the right thing where Magu is concerned
It would be recalled that the former EFCC chairman had exposed several infractions committed by Malami, with the probe report believed to contain more damning evidence against top shots in the Buhari administration.
“The cabals around the President do not want the report to be revealed to the public or acted upon because it is too indicting. Magu’s lawyers had also revealed certain details that are being suppressed by the president’s men.
“President Buhari had set up a four-man committee to review the report of Salami on Magu.
The committee was made up of two representatives from the office of the Chief of Staff to the President and two from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
This is not the first time that President Buhari would not act on investigative reports concerning the EFCC based on manipulations allegedly from the AGF and other cabals.
