The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Lagos State, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has made an appeal to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu not to relent in his determination to open up all parts of the state through massive infrastructural development.
The monarch made the appeal while speaking with The Nation in his palace during the activities marking his 6th year coronation anniversary.
Oba Shotobi lauded the governor, describing him as a listening leader who is passionate about the even development of Lagos. He applauded Sanwo-Olu’s in health, education, infrastructure and other areas. He recalled how the governor had always listened attentively to him anytime he reaches out to Sanwo-Olu on behalf of his domain. “He will listen and most times, he will attend to our requests promptly,” the monarch recalled.
The Oba, while acknowledging the support rendered by individuals, various groups and organisations in the past six years towards making his reign a successful one, said Ikorodu has experienced immense growth and development since he became king. “I thank the governor for always supporting me. I appreciate the royal family for giving me the opportunity to lead and I specially recognize the good people of Ikorodu for standing by me in the last six years,” he said.
The monarch then charged the Lagos state government to intensify efforts on the delivery of the promised 4th Mainland bridge, the Isawo road, redesigning of Ikorodu roundabout, second phase of Itamaga-Ijede road, and other developmental projects promised the people of Ikorodu. “We know this government loves us in Ikorodu. That is why we are also always in support of Sanwo-Olu’s administration,” he said.
