Nigeria is making commendable moves to cut its 8 billion dollars annual spending on the importation of vehicles into the country.
This development has seen Billionaire Business Man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote buying 800 of his trucks from ANAMMCO Assembly Plant in Enugu State, Nigeria.
The different bits of the trucks were imported with Naira from the currency swap deal in order to boost and to save the nation’s foreign reserves.
As at the time of filing this report, N-Power workers were seen being trained by Chinese to assemble trucks, while over 200 workers of the plant have been recalled from redundancy.
Analysts said this development is a testament to the work being done by the Nigerian automotive industry regulators, the National Automotive Design and Development Council, (NADDC), headed by world renowned auto designer, Mr. Jelani Aliyu (MFR).
Nigeria spends almost 8 billion dollars annually to import vehicles into the country, a move detrimental to its economy and which the NADDC has been working hard to address.
