Ekiti election free, fair, says media group

The Executive Director of Media Against Impunity Nigeria, (MAIN NGR), Hon Meshack Idehen, has said the recently concluded gubernatorial election was free and fair.

He said from all indication and from the various reports of local and international observers, that the election represents a great step for Nigeria in the quest to perfect electoral process in Nigeria and on the continent.

Speaking throug a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Idehen, who is the Director of Media Strategy and Publicity for the Muhammadu Buhari Osinbajo Dynamic Support Group, (MBO), said the transparency and impartiality of the election are reflected in the close call that was the final results of the polls.

According to him, the marginal figures by which the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi defeated his closet rival and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) would have been much higher if the polls were manipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
